Want to track training progress?……..log your training

Today’s blog post is by our newest Featured Coach, Chris Baverstock from MJS Gym in Gloucestershire.

This covers the topic of log booking in the gym and ensuring you track your progress…

I feel log booking your training is extremely valuable for training and nutrition, whether it is helping you learn about your body or giving feed back to a coach. Logging your poundage’s, sets and reps gives you a good indication on your progress. Also making note of other factors that can effect the workout such as sleep, hydration, nutritional changes motivation.

Where progress halts, you or your coach can assess your information and have a better understanding of what to address. It can help identify “recoverability” to allow for alterations in nutrition or changes in volume and frequency. It could be a single exercise needs changing to allow further advances or if a deload is required.

Knowing exactly what you have done previously inspires motivation to beat your last efforts and move foreword with your training goals.

At Team FlexFood we 100% agree as it is not only about logging your nutrition to ensure you stay on track, but combined with logging your training is where you will see the most progress in the long run.
